Candlestick of oak wood. Copied from a small photograph of a French eighteenth century design. The growth defect in the timber was caused by a piece of lead buckshot. Examination of the growth rings revealed that the shot may have been fired around the year 1780. H305 mm, base 80 x 80 mm. LGH, late 1980's.
