Rehabilitation of most favoured vegetable knife after it had done time on a compost heap. The charred and rotting beech wood handle (below) was replaced by one of laburnham wood. The tang is secured with epoxy resin adhesive and two aluminium rivets. Finish: rapeseed oil. HFW, September 2008.
